The Tybee Island Historical Society is pleased to offer the Light Station and Museum as a venue for events. With a widerange of options available we are able to offer accommodations for small groups of 20 people or for large groups up to 400 people.

Perfect for weddings, from the intimate to large event weddings, with space and packages to fit your needs. Probably the most sought after, and indeed the most romantic venue on the island.

We only allow one rental per weekend so space is limited.  This helps us to make sure that every event is not competing for space or time.  The time allotted for events is in the evenings only.  Set-up may begin at 4:30P.M.and the event must be over by 11PM and the site cleared by 12AM. (The only exception to this is outside the fence line.)

Lighthouse (LH)

The view from the top is the best on all of Tybee. The Lighthouse has been restored to the time period of the 1930’s. It is an excellent place for very small weddings as well as a great treat for guests attending a larger event. (Limitations – no elevator, no candles, no food or drink, only 20 people allowed in at a time, no seating)

Capacity: 20 guests for events held in the building.

Cost for Lighthouse and grounds: $750

Inside Fence Line (IF)

The area inside the fence line is a beautiful setting for an event.  This area may be rented on its own or with the area outside the fence, the Lighthouse and Head Keepers. Restrooms are provided with use of this area. (Limitations – For food that requires warming you may use warming plates chafing dishes are not allowed. Wine or beer in fence area only, no candles, no tiki torches, no rain back-up available for large weddings, limited seating available. )

Capacity: 150 guests

Cost: $500

 

Head Keepers (HK)

The Head Keepers has been restored to the time period of the 1930’s.  This building can be used on its own for weddings or with the use of the area outside the fence line. It is an excellent area to use for the bride and groom preparation. (Limitations – only 20 people allowed in at a time, no food or drink allowed, no candles, curling irons, hot rollers, hair dryers, or irons, no seating, no running water)

Capacity: 20 guests for events held in the building.

Cost for Head Keepers and grounds: $750

       

Second Assistant Keepers (AK)

This building is a very simple building.  It may be reserved as a changing area or be held as a rain back up for parties of 50 or less and chairs are provided. There will be no charge for the building unless it is needed. In the event that it is needed a $250 fee for the building as well as a $500 fee for the use of the grounds will be charged. (Limitations – no running water available, AV equipment may not be used, no candles, no curling iron, hot rollers or irons are allowed.)

Capacity:  50 guests

Cost for 2nd Assistant Keepers and grounds: $750

 

Museum (M)

The top of the Museum is a beautiful location that over looks the ocean. There are 3 levels of history that can be viewed during the event. This space may be rented separately from the Light Station grounds. (Limitations –the top can be very windy, food and drinks may not be taken into the Museum, the interior of the Museum may not be a rain back-up, lighting is limited on the very top level, power sources are limited, no seating available, no candles)

Capacity: 100 guests

Cost for Museum: $500

 

Outside Fence Line (OF)

The area behind the lighthouse and outside the fence line is an excellent place for large outdoor receptions. This area can be rented on its own or with the area and buildings inside the fence line. (Limitations – lighting, no restrooms, no rain back-up available for large weddings, no seating available, the area can flood in a heavy rain event)

Capacity: 400 guests

Cost for Outside Fence Line: $500

 

2, 3 or 4 RENTAL HOUR OPTION

The grounds and one building may be rented for a 2, 3 or 4 hour time period from 6-pm, rentals are to be finished at 10pm. This is ideal for Private Engagements and Small Wedding Ceremonies.
